Happy Wednesday. I actually find this whole “ we humans screwed up some of nature, so let’s use our technology to fix it” absolutely bad and erroneous thinking. I read something today that said we should actually be trying to propagate many new species to increase diversity in nature. Just sent chills down my body. We are consistent and it’s not going to end well at some point. I’m just enjoying the last few years of my ride.

I agree with you.

Right away I researched dire wolf when this story dropped.

I mean, they don’t even understand why it went extinct.

There are some assumptions of course but sure let’s bring a version of this into our crazy world.

The idea of engineering new species for diversity (instead of, say, protecting what’s left) does feel like doubling down on the same mindset that got us here.

Enjoy your evening David.

After being in Costa Rica that has 25-30% of its landmass in national parks some which you can’t go into I’m in favour of more blocks of land just preserved “forever” with no human access except native groups who have traditionally lived there. A place for flora and fauna to thrive

I agree with you on this.

I wrote a bit about this kinda for Lisa's pub today.

I still need to read your article from yesterday. A bit behind this week.

Happy Friday, david.

I get behind on my newsletter reading too but I think being 2 to 7 days behind gives each one another little boost

I think that is called ex post rationalization

That is true too David.

Sometimes I cannot answer my comments or notes right away but when I do several hours later it awakens the algo gods.

It makes a difference.
